What a surreal experience. I was just watching the Edward Snowden movie (2016) on Amazon prime, right at the moment he escapes from Hong Kong to Moscow, a push notification popped up on my phone: Assad and his family had also just escaped to Moscow.
I know the two events aren't related at all, but experiencing them simultaneously made the movie feel incredibly real and heightened the sense of global intrigue.
